8.33kHz Airband Spacing

This spacing is only used  in designated Upper Airspace areas (above FL245).
Approach, Tower, Ground and Area Radar frequencies etc are not affected.

Scanners which are able to receive 8.33khz transmissions are marked appropriately.

Any scanning receiver which has the ability to select a 10kHz tuning step will be able to receive these transmissions,  as controllers will pass a frequency change in an 8.33kHz sector as a CHANNEL with three decimal places ending in zero, e.g. 132.840.

User Tip: By setting your scanner to 5hkz steps, you will be able to input frequencies from either 25kHz or 8.33kHz step sizes.
