Despite its incredibly compact size, the Yaesu VR-5000 is truly a
communications receiver par excellence, providing continuous coverage
from 100 kHz to 2599.99998 MHz, allowing reception of all the popular VHF /
UHF bands as well as the Shortwave HF spectrum.
All popular operating modes: LSB, USB, CW, AM-Narrow, AM, Wide AM, FM-Narrow, and Wide FM are catered for, and to make operation simple and efficient, the "Auto" mode, the VR-5000 automatically selects the tuning steps and operating mode according to the frequency you have selected. You won't miss those quick, important transmissions with the VR-5000! More advanced features include Dual Receive capability - allowing the monitoring of two frequencies simultaneously, providing the stations are within 20 MHz of each other and are in AM or FM-Narrow modes. Especially useful on bands where Duplex (ie transmit on one frequency, receive on another) operation is used, such as VHF Marine.
